Sorry, i don't speak swedish !

I have just bought an open boat from RYDS company : a 475 GT 1991  with a Johnson 43 kw engine.

My problem is that I don’t  find any information on the web except the commercial presentation on RYDS website. This boat is well known but it seems to be impossible to find or buy a manual  or a technical description of this model in English or French.

In fact, this boat seems to be ok for a 1991's product but i would like to obtain more informations...

I contacted RYDS but i didn't receive any answer.

So i decided to write a message on this forum.

Do you know if there is a web space to exchange with other users or is there a website where i will be able to download a user documentation (free or pay) ?

The link above only points to the search function so some explaining is in order:

Use the box under the text Sök båt to write Ryds 475 GT and click Sök. That will result in seven hits. These hits represent users on this forum that has registered that they own a Ryds 475 GT.

If you click their names under Ägare you will get to their user page. On that page you will find a button named Skicka mail with an envelope beside it. That is Send email so you can contact them directly.

Thank you for these informations (I know that google is my friend, so i used Google translator for swedish to french...but the results are sometime strange ! )

I understand that RYDS community is present in this forum !

In France a company imported RYDS a few years ago and it is why we can find some models 1980 to 1995 but this company does not exist anymore and i don't find any contact.

I am still the happy owner of a RYDS 475 GT (1992).

 

I only use it on lakes for predator fishing.

 

It's a secure boat with many advantages...but it's impossible to find a place to storage the rods...As the rods are telecopic...they could enter inside the fixed front seat, no ?

 

In fact, i imagine to cut out the top of the seat and replace it by a waterproof handle hatch.

But i have no idea what I'll find inside and if i will modify the level of security of the boat (even i want to build and put inside a sort of box and inject around polyurethane foam ).

What do you think of this idea ?

I think you found the best place to communicate with boat people in Sweden. There has been problems with Ryds as they where bought by Nimbus also a Swedish producer. Then Nimbus went bankrupt and took Ryds with them. Now Ryds and Nimbus again are separated companies. So there is a new Ryds company. I dont know if they take responsibility for the old boats. You can try mail those guys , sorry for webpage in Swedish, but they are athorized sales for Ryds in Sweden, and has been that for very long time. http://www.kodemarin-maskin.se/marin/ryds2.htm.
