Spisproblem-Sea Ray

Hej

Har en orginal Sea Ray-spis med sprit och el, vet ej hur den fungerar , längst bak sitter en knapp som man kan dra upp och ned, och som påverkar trycket till spriten på något vis , hur skall man använda den knappen?

Fram har man en pump för att pumpa upp trycket vilket jag har förstått, mitt problem är att när jag har startat upp spisen och den brinner, rinner det ned sprit i uppsamlingskoppen under , som till slut antändes och blir till en stor eldsvåda,som inte är så rolig.

Jag tror själv att det är handhavade fel, eftersom jag har kollat packningar etc. och inte hittat några fel på dessa.

Är det någon som kan beskriva hur jag går tillväga när jag skall använda spisen.

Knappen bak tror jag är för att reglera mellan sprit och el, när locket är stängt kan du köra på el om du har varianten med glashäll.

Knepet när det gäller spriten är att förtända, pumpa upp trycket, öppna ytterst lite på vredet så spriten bara fuktar i den övre ringen och sedan stäng vredet igen. Nu tänder du och låter det brinna ut, tar någon minut. Sen tänder du igen genom att öppna lite på vredet och  sen kan du reglera brännarna vi vredet utan att det rinner ned i uppsamlingskoppen.

Nedanstående är saxat från ett Sea Ray forum i staterna.

Jag har även en manual hemma hur den funkar kan pröva och scanna den om jag kommer ihåg men är på jobbet just nu,nedanstående beskriver annars exakt hur det går till.

We've used our alcohol stoves for years. The alcohol flame can be doused easily with water and there are no canisters or explosive propane fumes to deal with. Propane canisters shouldn't be stored anywhere their fumes can't escape overboard. The fumes are heavier than air and light easily!

Stove fuel can mean white gas, as in Coleman stove fuel. It will not work and should not be used in an alcohol stove.

As far as the stove goes, read the directions very carefully! I just read this on another website and figured there was no point in reinventing the wheel! Here it is as posted by Ghost:

There are lots of stories of alcohol stoves blowing up. Nearly all of them are a cover for operators that did not follow the instructions, or did something outright stupid (like trying to refuel a hot stove).

First, WATER is a good material to fight an alcohol fire. Some of the safety benefits of an alcohol stove is that when pressurized you have a hot burning and effective flame, but when depressurized there is no chance of escaping gas igniting(such as with propane). While alcohol can leak, if it falls into the bilge, it can mix with bilge water and not be explosive. Still, with all fuels, handle with care.

If you have an older stove, there is a strong chance that the burner plunger seals have dried out and you likely will need a new one. They can be hard to find as few folks carry alcohol stove parts anymore. See if you can pump up the stove and whether it will hold pressure.

Now on to the fun part. How to use the stove. It's really very simple, but I'll warn you right now. FOLLOW THE DAMN DIRECTIONS. If you burn down your boat, I'm going to chide you for not being smarter than the stove. Before I tell you HOW to light the stove, I'm going to force you to THINK about HOW IT WORKS. Alcohol is a liquid, but we want to burn it as a gas. To turn it into a gas, were going to heat it. If not properly heated, the alcohol will come out as a liquid, run all over the place and not burn where we want it to. This is called NOT FOLLOWING THE DIRECTIONS.

So how do we heat up our stove before lighting it.

1.) Pump up the stove using the plunger. Usually 10-20 strokes will do it.
2.) Open a burner valve and the LIQUID alcohol should run out of the burner and collect at the bottom of the stove. There should be a small recessed cup at the bottom of the burner to catch the liquid alcohol. Let this cup fill up, but do NOT overfill.
3.) Shut OFF the burner. Verify that the level of the burner cup is not rising and the fuel is off.
4.) Light the fuel in the burner pre-fill cup. You should have a flame that will rise up and surround the metal burner, HEATING IT! The flame might rise an inch or two above the burner. This is normal.
5.) Let the flame BURN OUT.
6.) So long as you filled the pre-fill cup with fuel and allowed it to burn out, you have now burned the precise amount of fuel directly below the burner that was measured and designed to heat the burner to a level that will flash liquid alcohol into a gas and allow it to burn that way.
7.) Open a burner to low/med setting. You should hear a hiss now, indicating you are getting alcohol gas.
8.) Light the burner like any other gas or propane stove.
9.) From this point on you have a hot burning stove that will work identical to any other pressurized gas stove such as propane etc... without the fear of leaking propane cylinders on your boat.

10.) IF you run out of fuel before you are done cooking. DO NOT do something farm animal stupid such as trying to pour additional alcohol into the stove right next to pre-heated hot burners that are more than capable of causing a fire.

11.) If you do not follow steps 1-5, or Step 10, then do the following.
12.) Go to the internet and loudly exclaim my alcohol stove just blew up, we were nearly killed. It was the stoves fault, these things are dangerous and they should not be allowed to sell them. Everyone will believe you and go out and buy a propane pressurized stove that really CAN blow up your boat for real. Worse yet is the butane burners that don't have any gas sniffing features and the very same folks who blew themselves up with the alcohol stove now us the butane burners and STORE THE often LEAKY bottles INSIDE their cabins!

Min alkoholspis är paj i båten har funderat på att köpa en som heter Cookmate 4200,som är en ren ersättare för det 2 lågiga köket vi har i våra Searays men ja det går på närmare 3000kr så jag funderar på att göra som dig handla samma gasolportabla spis såg att Jula hade den som Maj månads vara......just att kunna ta med den ur båten känns inte helt fel.

Hur länge räcker en tub ungefär !?

OK, tack för svaren och tipsen. Måste ju säga att det verkar vara en krånglig procedur för att få igång en platta. Hade tidigare ett Origo kök. Bara att fylla på och tända. Får se vad det blir, men tack för svar.

Tuben räcker till att koka potatis 2gånger typ.. inte länge med andra ord. Köp ett gäng tuber i reserv. Enkla att byta.

Hej

Jag hade precis en sådan spis i min Sea ray och tyckte den va super. Starta precis som Pibe beskrev. Bara pumpa upp tryck, öppna lite å tänd på, efter en stund slocknar det å då börjar man och och sedan är den en så fin låga. Precis som när man använder gasol...asså lågan. Jag tycker inte att det finns någon anledning till oro, flammar det upp för mycket, kasta på locket.

Provade den i helgen. Funkade ju bra, men vad menas med det som står till vänster om ratten, CLEAN. Hade för mig att man drar ratten mot CLEAN om man vill att resterande bränsle i koppen ska brännas upp. Så långt OK, efter ett tag slocknar lågan, men när man sedan för ratten mot CLOSE, pyser det igen i brännaren? Hmm.
