Stockholm to Vastervik first time

Hi, again apolagies for the English, I must learn Swedish I must learn Swedish.......
 Ive been aske dto sail a small boat from Stockholm south next week....any recomendations as to some nice places to stop, or after looking at teh charts are there just too many nice islands to choose from?
 Any advice/suggestions?

Congratulations!

You will be sailing through three (at least) wonderful archipelagos!

I think you will find your nice islands without too much trouble.

My experience is that the leg between Landsort and Arkösund is the least interesting. Before and after that there are plenty of opportunities.

 

Then again it is all about what you personally appreciate and what possibilities your boat gives.

 

Why not buy the book Landsort Skanör by Lars Granath etc. It has plenty of tips and is very valuable with its detailed charts of natural harbours.

Hi Neil,

Trosa is worth a visit, not far off the track. Plenty of shops.

Västra Stendörren (Western Stone Door?) is a nice spot to stay for a night, 58d 44,6N, 17d 23,6E.

The girls in Oxelesund are especially pretty...

You must stop at Harstena, 58 degrees 15,3N, 17 degrees 00,3E.

It´ s worth the effort, magic spot.

And Fyrudden is a good spot for provisioning. 58 degrees 11,5N 16 degrees 51E.

If you can read Swedish you should definately get hold of a copy of Lars Granath´ s book, Landsort-Skanör - Din guide till Ostkusten öar,gäst-och naturhamnar, as mentioned previously.

I´ ve done this trip a few times and I believe you will be visiting one of the nicest sailing areas to be found anywhere!!!

Sounds like a good book to get, well have at least one Swedish person with us so well get the book. The suggestions for places to stop etc are usefull.
Not sure my girl friend will appreciate all the advice?
