Hej, Jag har köpt en Maxi 95 som ligger på land i Limhamn (jag bor i England). Den skall sjösättas i slutet av nästa vecka, antagligen April 18. Den har en Solé 26 och jag behöver någon som kan byta olja, filter och impeller. Eftersom det är en Maxi 95 så är det lätt att komma åt. Om du behöver transport kan det fixas. Whatever we agree on includes a bottle of single malt whisky .=*^) Chris

LOL - indeed, Lagavulin is an absolute delight. Me, I am always very cautious around a bottle of Scotch - usually a bottle lasts about a year or two. I just - in your honor - finished off my last bottle of 1991 Double matured Distillers Edition: https://www.thewhiskyexchange.com/P-7000.aspx Made me both happy and sad - and my wallet is going to get sadder considering what those bottles costs now. I can still get a 1995 for about £95 though so maybe... I just re-read this thread - and enjoyed it just as much as I did the first time - if not more..=*^) I've also been reading this blog: http://thallatha.blogspot.se/2009_12_01_archive.html which I strongly recommend to anyone who enjoyed this one. The reason I've been reading the blogs again is that Jess and I just bought a Maxi 95 and in a couple of weeks i'll head over to Skåne to pick it up and then sail it up to Björkö where we were very lucky to find a berth just north of Framnäs - the home of SS FRAM we are members of. The plan is I'll be living on the boat during the summer and Jess will come over as much as she can (she's a teacher in Cambridge). As for the winter - who knows - time will tell. LOL Ok, it's a deal - one laphroig - for you - and one 1991 Lagavulin Double Matured Distiller's Edition (I'm looking at one of those right now in my living room)...=*^) 21 year old - Guda dryck - for sure..=*^) Ah, yeah, in the cockpit a chilly evening - that's one of those things that makes life worthwhile... Just like the very first time you set sail in spring and she heels over a little and picks up speed - oh man... I've missed that feeling ever since I returned to the US in December '90.

LOL Perhaps because it came naturally to you, reading my post...=*^) Seems you got the best of all worlds now - a red little cabin, a loving woman and a sailboat right outside the door! Life can't get much better, can it? As for the English, it's rusty to say the least and it's just a *lot* easier to do it in English as it has been the mother tongue for me for most of my life and it is the main language for me and Jess - although she's been picking up a lot of Swedish in the 4 weeks we've spent on the West Coast the last two summers. I am amazed how she's been picking it up - she rattles off stuff like sjutusenshuhundrasjuttiosju sjösjuka sjömen sköttes av sjutusenshuhundrasjuttiosju sjösjuka sjuksköterskor - without almost any accent at all..=*) And getting the å, ä and ö's right means I gotta use the option key all the time with two finger combinations - no Swedish keyboard...=*^( We'll be sure to take you up on your offer although Laphroig is just a little too medicinal for me - Lagavulin is almost as smoky as the laphroigh though - if you haven't tried it, do. If we do come your way I'll bring a bottle.. =*^)

LIke several at the end of this thread I just came across it last night - and got stuck right away..=*^) Great thread, especially as my lovely wife Jess and I are seriously thinking of moving back (for me anyway - Jess is British but has fallen in love with the West Coast and seriously gotten the sailing bug) - so we're thinking buying a sailboat and live in it is the way to go. Congrats on your new partner! Amazing how this thing called love can change your life, eh?..=*^) Myself, I am in the UK because Jess saw my work, fell in love with it (I'm an artist), wrote me - and eventually flew to the US and proposed to me - how incredible is that?..=*^) Anyway, this thread has been great to read - lots of interesting solutions and many interesting writers - thank you all for your contributions!
