The Eastbay 43 was born from the successful collaboration between two of the worlds most respected names in boating: Grand Banks and C. Raymond Hunt. Grand Banks, building the worlds finest trawler styled yachts for over 30 years, is known for a level of craftsmanship that has consistently set the standard for quality boat building. Knowlegeable boaters readily appreciate the solid feel of our rugged construction, the beauty of our traditional, luxurious interiors and the dependability of our expertly installed machinery and systems. These are recognized characteristics of a Grand Banks built yacht.
Following the overnight success of the Eastbay 38 Express, the 43 Flybridge sedan and the 43 Sedan evolved into the logical extension of the Eastbay line. For those who wanted the speed and agility of the critically acclaimed 38 Express, but who needed more generous accommodations the Eastbay 43 was born. Available with a number of proven interior layouts, including galley-up, galley-down, one head or two heads, v-berths or an island berth, the Eastbay 43 is the ideal fast cruiser for the cruising family or couples with occasional guests.
Typical power delivers cruising speeds of 24 knots and top speeds of 28 knots. Higher speeds are attainable with optional engine packages. With 450 gallons of fuel on board, cruising ranges in excess of 400 nautical miles are achievable. Most importantly, the ride of the Ray Hunt hull is dry and comfortable, even in choppy seas. With their offshore performance and work boat pedigree, the Hunt designed and Grand Banks built Eastbay 43 can easily handle sea conditions that will make even the most seasoned skipper or crew confident in the Eastbays pedigree.
Having such confidence at sea also results from the Grand Banks philosophy of building to heavy duty, rugged scantlings. While some builders boast of weight saving construction techniques, the overall design of the Eastbay 43 encourages a conservative approach to construction.
Modern, reliable diesel engines provide plenty of power to drive the boat at top speeds without the need to skimp on hull or bulkhead thickness to save weight. As a result, the Eastbay 43s ride is solid, and it will punch through rough seas when the lightweights turn back. And it will do so for years without showing signs of gel coat stress or other construction failures. The Eastbay 43 is built to go the distance.
Traditional Yet Modern Interiors
It is refreshing to hear so many people at boat shows comment,This is a boat that feels like a real boat. Built by the same hands that have made Grand Banks synonymous with quality and craftsmanship, the Eastbay brings a modern touch to the traditional world of boating. Nowhere is this more evident than in the beautiful saloon, the modern galley and the easy-to-clean head and shower. The skilled joinerwork and hand rubbed teak provide the special patina of a wooden boat. And the use of firs rate materials like Corian counter tops, polished stainless steel sinks, deluxe hardware fixtures, modern lighting and mar resistant laminates creates a fresh, contemporary look.
The Eastbay 43 is available with a variety of interior layouts and a willingness to provide semi-custom interior options. For a greater understanding of the range of interior options, we invite you to contact your Eastbay dealer.
